Bentley’s woodworkers have returned to car production after a brief stint making furniture while manufacturing was cut back.

The woodworking team, which numbers 140, turned their hands to furniture production while production of the company’s Arnage family of cars was temporarily reduced.

They worked on a number of internal Bentley projects such as building the furniture for its showstand at the recent Geneva Motorshow. The furniture will also be used at other motorshows throughout the year.

“Potentially we may have asked the woodworkers to do this anyway as showstand furniture is a perfect opportunity for us to showcase their skills,” said a Bentley spokesperson.

“These projects are now complete and the woodworkers are now back working on car production.”
