Berkshire-based Benchmark was awarded the prize for sustainable development, alongside adhesive firm Beardow & Adams, which was crowned international trade winner.
Benchmark joins wood-based firms Haldane Ltd and Tilhill Forestry Ltd, which won awards for specialist timber machining and forest management, timber harvesting and wood fibre supply respectively, as previous Queen’s Award for Enterprise recipients.
The award winners are chosen by the Queen based on advice from the prime minister and a host of trade unions and industry bodies.
