Melamine-faced products distributor BCL has improved its Midlands operation by acquiring the Perstorp Service Centre at Perry Barr, Birmingham.
BCL has bought the site leasehold for £500,000 from Formica, which acquired Perstorp Surface Materials Ltd last year but did not want to keep the Perry Bar site.
The site will be BCL’s main Midlands distribution centre but will also continue to provide a sales and distribution operation for Perstorp’s products.
BCL’s West Bromwich sales office has been relocated to the new site.
Managing director Stephen Ryley said: ‘This is a strategic move for us. Based on five sites nationally we will be able to offer a next-day service to most areas of the country.’
