Boise Building Products Ltd is now offering its BCI joists with pre-cut holes to make installation of services faster and easier on site.
The Upper Heyford-based company said the pre-cut holes are bigger than the pre-stamped 38mm diameter knockout holes already offered with BCI joists. Typical sizes are 125mm circles and 125x300mm rectangles.
The holes are designed to be aligned in accordance with plot plans and can be used with copper piping, soil pipes and ventilation ducting.
Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern) has conducted a successful trial of BCI joists with pre-cut holes in a number of homes at its landmark development in Oxford.
