BASF has launched a £2.8bn hostile takeover bid for US rival Engelhard.
German chemicals manufacturer BASF, whose business includes supplying products to the wood coatings sector, has described Engelhard’s catalytic converter operations as “highly attractive”.
Engelhard also supplies dispersions, some of which are used in lumber marking.
