Hadfield Wood Recyclers and UK Wood Recycling (UKWR) have been rewarded for their efforts to turn waste wood into useful by-products.

UKWR won the recycling category of the North East Environment and Energy Awards, while Hadfield Wood Recyclers won the British Equestrian Trade Association Export Award for distributing its easibed horse bedding product in the Middle East.

The sister companies, run by the Hadfield family, both produce a range of animal bedding, and UKWR has a contract to supply wood chips to the Wilton 10 Biomass Power Station in Tees Valley.

“We work very hard across both the companies and all our animal bedding products to ensure we are top of our game,” said Geoff Hadfield, managing director of both UKWR and Hadfield Wood Recyclers. “I am delighted that UKWR and easibed have been recognised as exactly that.”
