The Australian plantation timber industry has embarked on a campaign to demonstrate its green credentials compared with rival materials.
One of the campaign’s key claims is that a timber frame four-bedroom house uses 85% less greenhouse gases to construct than a steel-framed equivalent.
Forestry minister Ian Macdonald said he hoped the Greens and the Democrats would support the initiative.
