Arnold Laver has won a major deal to supply Sheffield and Hull councils with JELD-WEN internal doors.

The Forest Stewardship Council-certified products will be supplied via Kier Building Maintenance and are part of Kier’s major redevelopment of council houses in the cities.

Arnold Laver joinery group manager David Oldfield said the doors were more environmentally-friendly because they did not use hardwood lippings.

The company’s prior involvement with Kier included the supply of 80,000 new door sets for a refit of council houses in Sheffield in 2006 – one of the largest single government contracts for doors in Europe.
