Armed police have been used to remove Greenpeace activists from a demonstration aboard a timber ship bound for China.
Greenpeace activists boarded the Harbour Gemini at the Paia Inlet, Papua New Guinea on Thursday and maintained a protest for more than 55 hours according to the environmental campaign group, before being removed.
Greenpeace said the peaceful action was part of ongoing action to stop illegal logging in Papua New Guinea’s forests.
