Finnforest has given nearly 200 architects an insight into the world of engineered timber and its potential applications.

Attendees at its Innovation by Nature seminar, held in conjunction with TRADA at the Building Centre in London, were told of the history of engineered timber, its development and examples of applications.

Architects at the seminar included Atelier One, BDP, dRMM, Buro Four, David Chipperfield Architects and Heatherwick Studios.

“Engineered timber is increasingly popular among architects for its versatility and in-built environmental performance,” said Warren Dudding, head of marketing at Finnforest.

“Because engineered timber solutions can be applied in any number of ways for structural performance; rigidity and strength, and its aesthetic appeal, there are opportunities for its use in public and private sector buildings.”
