Alsford Timber is to strengthen its network of branches in the south-east by opening a 20th outlet at Horsham in the new year.

The new branch, on a site formerly used by James Latham, represents a £250,000 investment by the Erith-based company. Incorporating a 10,000ft2 building, substantial yard area and a service mill, the outlet will be one of Alsford’s largest branches.

Managing director John Griffiths said: “We have been keen to open in the Horsham area for some time and we are delighted with the facility that we have secured.

“We already service the Horsham area from surrounding areas but we will be able to develop the area now we have a permanent presence.”
