An Irish joinery manufacturer is successfully using Alphacam machining software to streamline its manufacturing process.
County Donegal-based Ashley Martin Shopfitting is using Alphacam to drive its Homag Optimat BHP 200 CNC router and Holzma Optimat HPP 350 beam saw.
Ashley Martin’s design manager Gerard Gill said the software had freed up the company to concentrate on the creative side of its work.
“The industry’s skillset is changing, and thanks to Alphacam the production process is dramatically speeded up, so our skilled craftsmen see their creative ideas come to life more quickly,” said Mr Gill.
The company undertakes graphic design and branding in Autocad and Pytha CAD systems for the units it manufactures before importing the designs into Alphacam fore nesting and creating the CHC codes to drive the machines.
The Homag focuses on bespoke, complex items, while the Holzma carries out quick, bulk cutting of standard elements.
“The fact that Alphacam can post process CNC codes to machines from all manufacturers across all cutting technologies, is vital to us,” said Mr Gill. “It already provided an absolutely seamless switch from driving our old Biesse machine to the new Homag and Holzma.”
Ashley Martin manufactures bespoke shop display units for pharmacies, fashion houses and cosmetic companies such as Clarins, Estée Lauder and Smashbox.
