The 200m-long building, which has 6m high and 1.2m deep racks, was designed to serve as a space-saving finished goods store and to speed up order picking.

The company, founded in 1962, specialises in wood mouldings from natural wood and employs 30 people. The warehouse area has now been reduced to allow for systematic storage of the various products and profiles.

The racking was provided by German specialist OHRA, which developed the self-protecting, suspended cantilever rack support that deflects an impact to prevent damage to the stored goods.

Co-owner and managing director Andrew Agnew said: "The ability to systematically store our goods resulted in a considerable reduction in labour time during order picking. Amongst other things, we now use the space made available for the protected loading and unloading of the HGVs."
