Guildford Timber Frame has erected 31 affordable homes for the Guinness Trust as part a 500-house development in Surrey.

The Billingshurst-based company designed and manufactured the homes, which have been constructed on the site of a disused hospital in Gleeson Homes’ new award-winning village Netherne-on-the-Hill.

A pair of two-storey apartment buildings and 16 two- and three-bed houses utilise an 89mm stud frame with breather foil, 9mm OSB external sheathing and internal plasterboard finish.

Rob Grantham, the trust’s investment programme officer, said: “The structural timber frame system from Guildford offered fast build times to achieve a weathertight shell and a very high quality finish.”
