Organisers of the W6 Working with Wood exhibition say bookings are already 20% ahead of the 2004 show.

The Woodworking Machinery Suppliers Association (WMSA), sponsors of the show, has also teamed up with the Woodland Trust to add a sustainability dimension to the Birmingham NEC event on October 8-11, 2006.

A new UK woodland will be planted by the partnership, with the number of tree plantings corresponding to the number of W6 visitors. The WMSA expects 5,000 trees to be planted during 2006.

The WMSA says exhibitors are delighted with its visitor promotion strategies, which include expanding the show concept to include timber and board suppliers, plus the timber frame sector.

Wadkin Group plans to expand its presence at the biennial show, formerly called Woodmex, to reflect the increased size and promotion of the event.
