The event will feature a range of woodworking machinery manufacturers and suppliers, as well as masterclasses by some of the top names in woodturning and wood craftmanship.

Some of the most recent companies to sign up to the show include Hixon-based Staffordshire Sawing Services (SSS), which specialises in mobile sawing of timber using a mobile bandsaw and a chainsaw mill. Its contracts range from sawing one tree in a garden to larger-scale operations for timber merchants, councils and country estates.

“More and more homeowners enjoy the prestige of timber from their own properties being used on projects around their homes,” said Richard Dunmore, who runs SSS.

He said native hardwood sold directly to a local firewood dealer for £100 could be worth up to £3,000 if professionally milled.

Experts giving masterclasses at the show will include the UK’s top production turner Gary Rance.
