The official launch of the Wood Protection Association will be held today at Haydock Park Racecourse.

The association is one of two divisions of the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association formed at the start of 2003 to focus support for members in their markets.

Osmose UK general manager Gordon Ewbank will explain the reasoning behind the changes to delegates, while Tony Traynor of wood. for good and Steve Young of the Timber Decking Association are to make presentations about growing the market for preserved wood products.

The meeting will also see the launch of the revised Timber Treatment Installations Code of Practice by Martin Brocklehurst of the Environment Agency, plus the formation of the Wood Protection Committee to take the division forward.
