Dieffenbacher Group subsidiary Schenkmann-Piel-Engineering GmbH is to instal a 40,000kg OD/h capacity wood chip dryer at a particleboard plant in Western Australia.

The plant at Dardanup is owned by the Australian Laminex Group which is part of Fletcher Building Ltd of Auckland, New Zealand.

Laminex, which has seven production facilities in Australia and five in New Zealand, is a major manufacturer and laminator of panels for the construction and furniture industries.

The new direct heated dryer at the Dardanup plant will have a drum diameter of 5.6m and a drum length of 30m. The startup target date is June 2006.
