The Woodworking Machinery Suppliers Association (WMSA) has decided to discontinue its W Zone concept, including the website and magazine.

The decision was made at a board meeting on November 26 when board members reviewed the WMSA’s strategy in view of the current difficult economic climate.

Board members said halting the bi-monthly magazine, launched earlier this year, would allow focus of time and resources onto the Working with Wood exhibition. W Zone on the web, also discontinued, was billed as an online meeting place for the woodworking industry.

“We know many will be disappointed by this decision but the current climate was largely unforeseen at the launch of this bold project,” it said.
