Specialist coatings from the Sikkens Rubbol range were used to finish replacement windows from George Barnsdale made for a block of three listed houses in Letchworth.

The factory-finished components for the windows were coated under strict quality controlled conditions using the Rubbol opaque range of coatings specifically developed for factory application.

The system comprises a primer coat of Rubbol WF170 and a topcoat of Rubbol WF370, a water-borne, moisture vapour permeable satin finish which offers excellent weather resistance and flexibility.

Malcolm Jennings of George Barnsdale said the project has been registered under the Sikkens Sentinel Plus programme which enables technical consultants to work closely with joinery manufacturers. Sentinel analyses the site and its exposed profile prior to specification of the woodcare system and incorporates the information into a database which enables tracking of the maintenance cycle of the timber coating.
