Timber window manufacturer Whitaker & Co Ltd is now utilising Arch Timber Protection‘s Vacsol Aqua preservative formulation as part of its move to using more environmentally friendly manufacturing methods and products.
Machined windowed components are treated, prior to assembly, with the water-based and biodegradable preservative for a desired service of 30 years.
Bradford-based Whitaker said the decision to phase out traditional solvent-based treatments has removed solvent odours and emissions in the treatment process.
