National housebuilder Westbury plc is donating £31,000 to help parts of Asia affected by the recent tsunami.

Staff at the Cheltenham-based group, which has a timber frame division, raised more than £6,000 in one day of activities at offices across the country. The company then supplemented the fund-raising with a £25,000 donation.

Funds will be used for specific projects to rebuild homes in the disaster-hit zones and help create employment opportunities.
