Welsh timber and woodland development body Coed Cymru highlighted its pioneering endgrain tile project, Ty Unnos building system and its overall work to develop a sustainable Welsh timber supply chain.

“We received inquiries from around the world,” said director David Jenkins. “Our stand, hand built from Welsh timber, attracted a lot of attention.

Dylan Jones, endgrain project manager, promoted Coed Cymru’s project to develop an enhanced processing and manufacturing system for endgrain tiles from a variety of small diameter hardwood and softwood species.

Another project in the spotlight was the Ty Unnos Welsh wood building system. Twenty Ty Unnos homes and buildings have been built and 10 are in the pipeline.

Supply chain managers Tabitha Binding and Haf Roberts promoted their work to create sustainable links between woodland owners and end users of Welsh timber.
