Weinig reports a large increase in orders for material handling equipment, saying it can “hardly keep up with demand”.

The company says interest has rocketed since it revised its materials handling concept and product range by offering a new “High-Mech-System”.

Based on a modular concept, the system allows customers to choose from a number of different elements, ranging from simple infeed and outfeed, to complex interlinking of a production line.

Ernst Hartmann, Weinig’s system technology manager, said: “Moulder users seem to have caught on to the fact that material handling equipment can greatly increase profit, with a relatively small additional investment.”

Weinig claims material handling machinery can give a 30% performance boost for moulders with speeds of up to 800ft/min.
