A Weima WL6S 37kW single-rotor shredder has been installed at Sherborne Upholstery of Bradford.
The hopper fed machine will process waste hardwoods and MDF from the production line plus off-cuts of upholstery material.
Sherborne Upholstery works and safety manager Peter Whitehead said the machine’s capability to process both textile and woodwaste justified the investment.
The company expects installation of the machine, prices for which start at £12,000, will save around £37,000 a year on waste collection costs and heating bills.
Weima will exhibit its range of machinery at the RWM 2003 exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham on September 2-4.
