Following trials of trucks supplied by 10 different manufacturers, Wiltshire-based Vastern Timber Co chose Komatsu’s FD45T forklift for use at its five-acre timber yard near Chippenham.
Vastern timber director Peter Barnes said the company needed a tough performer, adding: “We saw down trees, cut them up and sell them on, which is heavy work, but the FD45T has met our timber-handling needs perfectly. It is used on a daily basis for timber movements throughout various stages of our operation – from tree to sawdust.”
