An AXYZ router is helping a Telford-based vehicle conversion company produce plywood lining for vans.
Vantage Vehicle Conversions invested in an AXYZ 4010 CNC machine after realising many of its competitors had started using AXYZ routers.
The unit is helping Vantage to manufacture hundreds of lining kits using WDP exterior grade Far Eastern plywood.
Vantage director Mark Cheshire said: “It used to take three men half a day to produce 20 kits. It now only takes one man to do the same amount of work in the same amount of time.”
Mr Cheshire said the router had enabled the company to design and produce complicated products.
The AXYZ 4000 series, available from about £25,000, can accommodate several options, including an automatic toolchanger, plasma and laser heads, plus the capacity for multiple heads to further speed up production.
