UPM-Kymmene Corporation has appointed Martin Gale as vice-president, international forestry. In this role Mr Gale will be UPM’s ambassador in forestry matters in significant international forums, for example, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

In addition to his new global UPM Group role, Mr Gale will continue to lead UPM’s forestry and wood sourcing representation in the UK and, as such, will remain chairman of Tilhill Forestry Ltd.

He will be based in UPM’s London office and will report to Jaakko Sarantola, senior vice-president, forestry and wood sourcing, who is based in Helsinki.
