The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) has enhanced its team with the appointment of a technical manager and an education and training manager.

As technical manager Steven Streets will expand the technical support service provided to UKTFA members. Formerly a senior building standards surveyor at the Scottish Building Standards Agency, Mr Streets has knowledge of current building standards and regulations, coupled with a wealth of experience from many years of inspecting construction on site.

Ray Curran joins the UKTFA as education and training manager and will be responsible for running the association’s training programmes in the design, manufacture and erection of timber frame buildings.

Before joining the UKTFA, Mr Curran, who has 20 years’ experience in training, was construction executive at Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, where he was responsible for the delivery of a £35m initiative to increase the skills of construction workers.
