The UK is one of the top target markets for Continental laminated timber producers.
That was the verdict at Ecobuild of Stefan Herwig, customer service manager of Austrian glulam specialist Nordlam.
The company forms part of the engineered wood, joinery and timber construction group Rubner and exhibited on the latter’s prominent stand.
“We’re also part of the South Tyrol timber industry presence at the exhibition, which underlines the significance the industry of our region as a whole attaches to the market,” said Mr Herwig.
Besides its structural glulam, Nordlam products attracting particular attention at the show were its ExpressElements tongue and groove flooring and ceiling ranges.
“These are designed to provide very easy and rapid installation solutions,” said Mr Herwig.
Solid laminated panels from fellow Rubner company Nordpan were also getting interest. These are produced for a variety of applications, from furniture and joinery, through cladding to whole structures.
“This is a market that is really coming in the UK,” said Mr Herwig.
