A return to the Belfry attracted an excellent attendance from the industry and guests, to enjoy a morning 10 hole Greensomes on the PGA National course, followed by lunch in the Sutton Suite and an afternoon 18 hole individual Stableford on the superb Brabazon course.

The event main sponsor was Wolverhampton-based Carver Group, supported by Steico UK, Metsa Wood, W Howard Group, Egger and Premdor.

The event culminated with a dinner and presentation in the Sutton Suite, with the overall winners and regional trophy winners being listed in the table below.

Robert Bruce, sales & marketing director for MH Southern & Co Ltd and TTBS National president, attended the event and spoke at the dinner. He thanked Henry Carver MD for the Carver Group and the sub-sponsors for their support and explained how important the National Golf event had become in the Society’s annual fundraising calendar.

In 2015, the Society had provided over £140,000 in benefits to the many UK timber trade beneficiaries.

He also thanked Ivan Savage, the TTBS general manager & national vice president, for the excellent organisation of the National Golf once again.

Henry Carver responded to thank all the attending suppliers for their support following the disastrous fire at the Carver main depot and the subsequent rebuilding, which was now complete, providing a premises fit for a successful future.

He also thanked Ivan Savage, who had been the Carver Group sales director until his retirement in 2008, for the first class golf event that everyone had enjoyed.

The 2017 TTBS National Golf will be held on Friday July 7 at Slayley Hall, Northumberland and will be sponsored by Arch Timber Protection.
