Northamptonshire-based shopfitter Triplar Ltd has upgraded its production machinery with Striebig and Timesavers-Sandingmaster equipment.

The company, which specialises in supplying the retail fashion market throughout the UK and Europe, opted for a top-of-the-range Striebig Control vertical panel saw to replace a manual Striebig it had used for 17 years. Production manager Colin Day said sizing of panels is now quicker and easier, with less material wastage.

The Control, supplied by Leicester-based TM Machinery Sales, features a digital measuring system, accurate to 0.1mm, a cutting depth of 80mm, a programmable logic control system and an infinitely variable feed speed.

A panel lifting device was chosen by Triplar as an extra to allow the saw to automatically raise the panel so the bottom edge can be trimmed without the panel needing to be turned over.

The Timesavers-Sandingmaster Winner Senior 110C wide-belt sander, developed for small and medium-sized businesses, has replaced hand sanding in the factory, a move credited by Triplar with dramatically improving efficiency and finish quality.

Striebig saws are available from £7,500-25,000 and Timesavers-Sandingmaster machines cost from £6,000.
