Both organisations recognise the product as an effective joinery treatment “when used as a component of an integrated approach of system approval leading to the enhanced performance of exterior joinery”.
To comply with the Integrated Approach to NHBC System Approval for fully factory-finished joinery and the declaration from BRE on system approval, the use of WV882 must include: the specification and selection of the substrate; full factory production and finishing of all products; controlled handling, storage and installation of joinery products; and a maintenance and care package post installation, such as the Sikkens Sentinel Plus wood Protection Programme.
WV882, which features extremely low levels of VOC emissions, can be applied by a simple, single in-line process.
