John Boddy Timber has realised substantial energy savings and a reduction in operational noise levels following the installation of a Super-Blower extraction and filtration system.

The negative pressure technology, which cost more than £100,000 and was supplied by industrial ventilation engineers Indusvent, has increased potential capacity at the company’s Riverside Sawmills, Boroughbridge, and gives it the capability to move to a 24-hour continuous operation.

The Super-Blower’s negative pressure works by extracting dirty air and injecting it into the filter inlet chamber. The main exhaust fans remain on the clean air side, enabling them to avoid contact with foreign objects while operating at lower noise levels.

Pressure-sensing Power Pulse technology activates an automatic filter cleaning system which enables continuous maintenance-free operations.
