Striebig’s Standard vertical panel saw, first produced in 1968, has been updated to conform to new German dust control regulations.

The old model, last updated in 1991, is being replaced by two new models – launched at Ligna – the TRK 1 and 2, which mean the entire Striebig range is now compliant with the TRK regulations.

The Swiss-based company says both models operate at more than 50% below the TRK’s recommended dust levels.

Both machines are available in nine frame sizes for handling panels up to 5300x2240mm. The TRK2’s improvements include a moving support frame fitted with a newly developed bearing system for smoother movement and increased reliability, while options are a new digital measuring system previously only available on the Evolution and Control models.

The TRK1 offers the same new features and is available with a birch plywood support wall.

Matt Pearce, sales co-ordinator at Striebig’s UK distributor TM Machinery Sales Ltd, said the first TRK models are due to arrive in Britain during June. He said UK dust control regulations were weaker than in Germany but predicted the TRK models’ dust performance would be needed to comply with future tightening of the rules.
