Growing demand to cut thicker materials, including rigid insulation, has led Striebig to redesign its saw heads to accommodate 100mm materials.

Research and development work has been completed by the Swiss manufacturer, which until now has designed its vertical panel saws with a maximum cutting depth of 80mm, and Control and Evolution machines are expected to be available with the improved feature in the near future.

On stand, a Control model, sporting a “sold” sign, took pride of place on the stand of TM Machinery, Striebig’s UK agent. TM highlighted the electronic positioning system’s capability in both axes and the control unit’s improved error recognition.

“It’s about as automatic as a vertical panel saw is going to get,” said Matt Pearce, sales director at Striebig’s UK agent TM Machinery.

He reported more interest in the high-end machines like the Control than entry-level versions.
