The Lincoln company’s new Striebig Evolution saw has made sheet-cutting a one-person job, as well as eradicating damage to veneered panels.

The machine, with a maximum cutting size of 3300x2240mm, sizes MDF and MFC panels, plus 50mm thick solid wood kitchen worktops.

“We needed a modern saw to give us greater accuracy and make us more efficient,” said Chiselwood’s design director Martin Holliday. “There was no space in the workshop for a table saw so we decided on a vertical model.”

The Evolution, which replaced an old dimension saw, was supplied with a scribing blade for use with veneered sheets.

Striebig saws cost from £8,300-25,000.
