Stenner is to restart machine production after confirming it has received machine orders to be supplied to five different countries.

The Tiverton-based sawmilling machinery firm, whose name and assets were recently bought from administrators by a consortium led by previous director Syd Mather, said the orders were secured for Stenner resaws following the Ligna show in Hannover.

An ST100R resaw borrowed from Belgium Distributor Noblesse Benelux, was exhibited at Ligna.

“By the end of the show we had secured enough new machine business to take us into September,” said Mr Mather. “We returned to the UK to organise the shaping of the new company in order that we could produce what was sold.”

He said extra personnel had been recruited in the production and electrical departments to facilitate the orders.

“There was an overwhelming show of support from all areas of the trade for us to move forward with the buyout to ensure continuity of supply for spare parts for the thousands of Stenner resaws in operation all over the world,” said sales director Fred Harding.

“While our initial plan was to build a business based on spares and service, it was clear from the outset that we had to secure the unique skills of our production personnel by selling machines and Ligna was the obvious launch pad,” said Mr Harding. “We couldn’t have wished for a better result.”

Stenner is offering discounts on machine parts’ sales and service for a limited period.
