Versatility was the watchword this year from optimising cross-cut and wood working production line specialist System TM of Denmark.
Perhaps the highlight on its stand was the Opti-stack 3000 stacker. To be more precise manager Jan Jensen described the new model as a stacker “program”.
“The 3000 is designed to be adapted for use with a range of different machines,” he said. “For instance, it can link to a single cross-cut saw (hopefully one from System TM, of course!), or to several cross-cuts, moulders, double-end tenoners or horizontal resaws.”
One advantage of having one stacker design applicable to several machine types is that personnel quickly become familiar with it.
“We’ve had a lot of interest, including from the UK where fencing companies are enquiring about linking it with resaws,” said Mr Jensen.
Another innovation from System TM was the Opti-kap 1000 series, a new cross-cut equipped with a pusher which can position bundles to an accuracy of +/-0.2 mm. It is claimed to be 50% more efficient than a standard, stand-alone saw. “We’ve installed one at Staffordshire Garden Furniture in the UK and they’re achieving 70m/min,” said Mr Jensen.
