Timber engineering specialist Smartroof Ltd exhibited its innovative roofing system at Interbuild.
The system consists of pre-fabricated, insulated, interlocking roof panels supported by structural gable panels. The simple, unique design features cross-wall spanning which negates the need for purlins. “This provides a room in the roof with great space and light,” said director David Himmons.
Another key selling point for the system is the speed of erection. Panels can be craned into place and the roof can be constructed in just two hours. The company maintains that no on-site carpentry skills are necessary.
