Cost savings of £3,000 a week have been achieved using an Altos 40 track oscillation system from Richard Smalley with Greenmech woodchipper for work on the railway embankment at Gerrards Cross station.
The savings are said to have resulted from increased ouput and a faster working cycle, coupled with improvements in operator safety. The Altos is now available in three sizes, and has been recognised for its innovative design by the Welsh Development Agency and Wrexham Borough Council, winning runner up in their ‘Bright Idea’ competition.
