Bandsaw manufacturer Skellingthorpe Saw Services has spun off a new company to focus on saw doctoring.

Radical Saw Technology Ltd, headed-up by Skellingthorpe’s managing director John Dexter, is targeting sales of around £750,000 in its first year and will initially handle only Iseli saw equipment. Mr Dexter is looking to clinch an additional agency agreement at Ligna.

Radical Saw Technology will be responsible for the saw doctoring advice and the research and development work previously undertaken by Skellingthorpe. A bespoke service will be offered to sawmills that will be able to fine tune the sawshop and production areas.

The new identity will allow Skellingthorpe Saw Services to concentrate on wide bandsaw production and service.

Mr Dexter said: ‘With our expansion plans for Iseli products and other saw doctoring equipment we decided that there was too much overlap between the two core parts of our business. This will allow us to make further inroads into the saw doctoring machinery sector.’

The two companies will operate from the same site but Radical Saw Technology has its own sales line – 01522 696765.
