Skanska IPN, the company behind the Bo-Klok prefabricated housing system, is investing in new technology to enable it to offer housebuyers a greater degree of customisation.
Step one of the two-stage expansion programme will see €1m invested in a CAD/CAM controlled insulated wall production line, manufactured and supplied by Randek.
Once complete, the factory, in Gullringen, in Sweden, will have a capacity of 600 houses per year.
“The fact that Skanska is selecting Randek as a supplier of production equipment for the new plant is very gratifying and proves that we are at the cutting edge in our market segment,” said Randek’s chief executive officer, Ola Svensson.
Randek develops and manufactures a range of systems for prefabricated housing manufacture, including cut saws, wall, floor and roof lines, roof truss systems and butterfly tables.
