The UK SIPs Association’s two-storey semi-detached house was a representation of a Passivhaus project being building in Horsham by Innovare for Saxon Weald Housing Association.
Inside the 16x8m structure association members and suppliers were busy fielding enquiries, even in the final few hours of the show.
Peter Keogh, technical director of Sips Eco Panels, said the stand demonstrated the association’s strength.
“We’ve been helping each other out, directing enquiries to the appropriate company on the stand. It shows the UK SIPs Association is working for us,” he said.
The association, which has around 60 members, was formed three years ago and Mr Keogh said the participating companies were “over the moon” with the interest in their products.
The three-day show had generated more than 100 leads for the companies on the stand but what had surprised the exhibitors was the large number of self-builders.
“We were looking to trade and developers but it’s been more like a self-build show,” said Mr Keogh.
The majority of visitors had some knowledge of SIPs but wanted more information, and some had brought their house drawings to the stand.
The companies exhibiting included Sips Eco Panels; Kingspan Tek; James Jones & Sons; Innovare; Sips Industries Ltd; Glosford SIPs; NorDan Windows; Knauf Drywall; and Simpson Strong-Tie.
