The new Cornwall Hotel Spa and Estate at Tregorrick is featuring extensive use of Sikkens woodcare coatings.

The development to transform the Grade II listed building includes the construction of 60 lodges in the 43-acre grounds.

Redruth-based timber frame manufacturer Frame UK is building the lodges and specified Sikkens Cetol BL21 plus and Cetol BL31 woodstain for the exterior wood detailing, which includes western red cedar cladding.

“We chose the Sikkens option for its environmental credentials, particularly its long lasting water-borne formulation and its durability,” said Neil Stevens, operations director at Frame UK. “This fitted in with our requirements for sustainability and environmental consciousness. The range also offered the colour spectrum we needed.”

The construction of the lodges is being staged over three phases, with phase one set for completion in April. The £30m development is expected to open in 18 months time.
