SCM declared itself “pleasantly surprised” by the number and quality of visitors at W10 and reported a substantial order covering a large edgebander, a moulder and CNCs.

SCM UK managing director Gabriele De Col also said other orders were taken and believes customers are preparing for a gradual upturn in business.

On display for the first time in the UK was the Dogma CNC window and door machining centre, which replaces the Windor.

The Dogma’s new features include an outfeed table which returns components to the operator, ensuring that even the shortest component machined is transferred without problems.

It can also be supplied with a horizontal and vertical drilling unit for fitting hardware in the tenoning section, which is now fully automatic in turning the component to tenon both ends. Previously operators had to release the lock and rotate by hand.

An additional profiling unit and grooving unit can be added in the profiling section.

SCM also ran a Superset NT Plus planer moulder through its paces – the first one was delivered to the company’s showroom recently. The Plus model features HSK technology to reduce downtime of tool changing and improve finish quality.

The 29m/min machine on display also featured Mobile 10 electronic control, which memorises tool data programs and controls manual axes positioning, automatic visualisation of heights, feed speed adjustment and spindle rotation.
