Investment in new SCM classical machinery at Oakwood Joinery Systems has enabled the company to increase output and save factory space.

The company has installed a Compact NT Planer Moulder, L’Invincible TF1400 and TI 155EP Class spindle moulders and a TEN 220 Class single end tenoner and resaw. And the cost was defrayed for OJS by part-exchanging some of its old machinery for the new equipment.

Managing director Malcolm Rogerson said that OJS is now running half the number of machines it did, but had increased output by 30%. The improved efficiency of the new equipment had also cut energy bills and reduced noise levels in the mill.

More follows in next week’s TTJ.
