Woodworking machinery company Ney Ltd, of Coventry, has improved its offering in the furniture manufacturing sector following its appointment as exclusive UK agent and distributor for Scheer of Germany.

Stuttgart-based Scheer makes high performance panel sizing systems, and drilling, gluing and dowelling machinery for assembly of panel constructed cabinet furniture, plus furniture components in solid timber.

Scheer’s top-of-the-range panel-sizing FM 19 veneer saw is the result of half a century’s experience in the manufacture of sizing technology for wood veneers. The company’s most recent piece of technology is the BS 5102, for end drilling, gluing and dowel insertion on automated assembly lines, particularly in small batches.

Other machines include a range of portable units, primarily routers, for precision cutting of hinge recesses and grooves, portable dovetailers, edging strip trimmers, staircase stringer production tooling and floor standing drilling systems for dowel boring to panel or solid timber component faces and frames.
