The kilns will join Tunadal’s 11 other chamber kilns and replace a number of the sawmill’s older progressive kilns.
Tunadal produces whitewood products for export to Japan and European markets. The company said the investment will improve quality and provide drying levels down to 8%, producing more timber suitable for industrial products.
