Sandvik could soon producing steel belts for manufacturing 14ft-wide sections of OSB.

Having already supplied the steel belts for the world’s first 12ft OSB line, commissioned by Dieffenbacher for Footner in northern Canada, Sandvik is now confident of producing even wider belts intended for the 14ft boards.

A Sandvik spokesperson said: ‘The investment we’ve put into our facility at Sandviken, Sweden, means we are capable of grinding belts even wider than those that went into the Footner project.’

Record 4080mm wide belts were used for the Footner press. Sandvik has begun discussions with a customer for a 4620mm belt for the 14ft boards.
